| In the past few months,
several mainline protestant denominations have held national meetings, and at each,
normalization of homosexual behavior has been addressed as a major (and headline-grabbing)
issue. In every case, the drumbeat for normalization of homosexual behavior was
either defeated entirely, or the status quo was maintained such that the homosexual
advocates gained no further ground. I believe we are seeing the beginning of the
end of this effort as the assault on the church by homosexual advocates is defeated. The church has always been the thorn in the side of the homosexual advocates' movement. They found little resistance in the secular media, as we now see the homosexual lifestyle glorified in television. The various federal and state governments were easy to bowl over, as laws were passed to provide preferential status to homosexuals, as if they were born into a suffering class due to no fault of their own or their families. However, the homosexual advocates were unable to force the governments over one final hurdle: homosexual marriage. The homosexual advocates knew that if they could get an equal footing in marriage, that there would be literally no end to the normalization of homosexual behavior. But one state after another, and even Congress and Bill Clinton backed "defense of marriage" laws, reinforcing that marriage is a union of one man and one woman. What is it, the homosexual advocates schemed, that is causing this logjam in governments toward homosexual marriage? Ah yes, it's the churches, and the legacy of so many citizens in this country with good Christian upbringing. No doubt: the resistance is rooted in the churches. Thus, the homosexual advocates figured that if they could shame the "turn the other cheek" Christian mainline denominations into blessing homosexual marriage out of a feeling of compassion toward the "downtrodden," that would be the first step. After all, if the church leaders, that the U.S. citizenry reveres, were to stand up and proclaim the validity of homosexual marriage, the governments would have to acquiesce, since pastors perform the majority of marriage ceremonies in the nation. But, this just wasn't to be. No, as God works through many churches and many of His people, we are beginning to see the homosexual advocates' house of cards begin to collapse. The signs are everywhere; below are links that demonstrate the movement. Some sources/people in the secular media no longer demonizes Christians and professionals who try to council homosexuals to change; I've seen a shift in both television and print media in just the past few months. Read this
article from the L.A. Times which presents Christian reparative therapy in a much
better light than what we've seen from such news outlets in past years. As you would
expect from the secular media, there are mis-leading statements and outright falsehoods in
the article, but still, I see progress. (Note the "science" presented as
fact, then keep these statements in mind when reading about actual science fact from other
sources further down in this writing). The homosexual advocates have been making headway for thirty years in both the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association (let's just call them both the APA). From 1972 to 1998, the APAs have progressively moved toward the homosexual agenda, but not by science, logic, or reasoning, but rather by politics. The "gay gene" fallacy was their planned scientific cover for their political maneuvering. However, over the past several years, it is SCIENCE that has debunked the "gay gene" theory (there are many articles documenting this fact, some are elsewhere on the websites referenced below; but you've rarely seen the true science on this in the mass media in the past, but I suggest that you will start to see the "gay gene" truth even in the mass media in the near future). So, now this house of cards is falling also. Because neither APA represented a majority of the professionals working in these fields, the APAs didn't have the stronghold on the rank-and-file doctors out there in order to suppress the Truth and maintain the solid political front necessary. This article from NARTH is about
the cowering of the APA in regard to conversion therapy for homosexuals: If you're really interested in reparative therapy, you can read this paper by Warren
Throckmorton, Ph.D. And if you are, or know anyone who is, a practicing therapist, consider this article from NARTH. Conclusion: Yes, reparative therapy is valid, says the majority of the scientific community, and they have proved it. Yes, transforming ministries shows the fruit of thousands of former homosexuals now living normal lives with Christ (the real Christ) as their Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord! |
