Unchallenged UM-Witchcraft Connection Means Leadership Muddled and Compromised

Dear Bishop Coyner,

Last September in an E-mail correspondence to me about the sexual escapades of our president and your essay, "The Methodist Middle" , you made this statement:

"I certainly hope you aren't suggesting that I (or any other UM leaders) approve of Clinton's immoral behavior. Being "centered in Christ" (which was the point of my article "The Methodist Middle") does NOT mean being muddled about our faith or compromising with the world's standards......"

I am curious.... Would you consider Phillip Wogoman's (a Methodist leader) support /"tolerance" of the practice of witchcraft in his staff an indication that he (and Ms. Webb and Ms. Kraus) may well be "muddled" and "compromising" in their faith?

Indeed, should we expect Rev. Wogoman, Ms. Kraus and/or Ms Webb to be able to offer anyone solid Christian moral advice at all given their pro-wiccan inclinations?

I can't think of a better illustration of the tragic predicament that the denomination finds itself in than the episode reported by Catherine Edwards in "Insight" magazine.

I have been telling as many folks as I can for quite a while that the strange "Methodist" goings on at Storm Mountain (COSROW wiccan ritual/ teaching) is/was not an isolated event by a few insignificant spiritual misfits. The attitude of doctrinal compromise is pandemic in the church, because so many in the "upper echelons" of Methodism don't really believe the Bible to be true in all that it teaches....'fundamentals' or otherwise. Consequently, the foggy, vaporous mists of spiritual deception are given room to intrude and invade and stupify until...."Voila!"...even witchcraft becomes just another 'legitimate", acceptable path to enlightenment under the big umbrella of smiley-faced "Christianity"....Methodist style. The vaporous, poisoned gasses of "new age" faith to which the UM denomination is wedded is really nothing more than 'good' ol' fashion' spiritual adultery.....idolatry. The fence straddling 'leaders' in the denomination, the "Can't we all just get along?" "Methodist Middle" are being tragically deceived. Satan, after all, loves compromise. He certainly has been busy lately. The cauldron is being stirred and things are heating up..... And our Lord continues to rattle the fence.

The spiritual deception that has been introduced into the Body of Christ because the watchmen who have fallen asleep is a cancerous killer......

Sooner or later, everyone on the fence will have to choose which way to jump. The Lord won't allow fence straddling forever. He is patient and longsuffering, but He expects a decision......."Yes" or "No".

It appears that those at Foundry have already made their choice. Let's pray that those who remain "on the fence" elsewhere can read the handwriting on the wall.....But in order to read that handwriting, one must first be willing to open one's eyes. So far, I'm afraid, it's been a classic case of the blind leading the blind......

Dear Lord, forgive us.

Yours in Christ,

Tom Graffagnino
