The following paragraph is an excerpt from The Reconciling Ministries Flashnet 2006-05-23.:
3.         NY RECONCILERS UNVEIL T-SHIRT FOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE

 

The idea for these shirts came during a NY Conference informal "brainstorm" over actions we could take at the 2006 Annual Conference. While the shirts will remain relevant as long as we continue to work together for "Jesus's Justice", they can have a special impact at this year’s Annual Conference. These T-shirts are a visible witness to remind people that the United Methodist Church’s slogan “open hearts, open minds, open doors” remains unfulfilled as long as the church continues to discriminate against lesbians and gay men in policy and practice.

 

Join us during the Saturday ordination event (open to all on June 10) at the 2006 NY Conference, as we all wear our t-shirts and make a silent, joyful noise.

 

The T-Shirts have the UM Cross and Flame with these words:

Closed Doors

Broken Hearts

We Mind.
