A couple of days ago I read a commentary in the Arkansas Methodist and reprinted by the United Methodist New Service. Reverend Averitt has done a great job responding to Pohl's concern. All I would add to Biff's statement is that the areas of United Methodism use to be equal in size. The distortions in the regions reflects the failure of the northeast and especially the western areas to reach people for Christ. Their liberal agenda has failed and our more moderate to conservative agenda has allowed us to, at least, hold our own. Your brother, John Miles |
