The board and staff at Reconciling Ministries Network is excited to announce that we are hiring a full-time Field Organizer with a Young Adult emphasis. This strategic move comes after deep prayer, reflection and thought at the last Reconciling Ministries Network board meeting prior to General Conference. With the position fully funded, we are now looking for the right candidate. There are several ways you can help us with this process. First, if you qualify for the

POSITION DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS Download Complete Position Description & Qualifications: Field Organizer with Young Adult Emphasis (pdf) SUMMARY The purpose of this Field Organizer with Young Adult Emphasis position is to: 1) increase the number of new Reconciling campus ministries, congregations and organizations 2) challenge and assist existing and Reconciling settings to adopt deeper postures of welcome 3) increase the number of dedicated volunteers who are trained in faith-base community organizing 4) network strategically to plan for actions that will ultimately 5) effect systemic change within the UMC - and beyond, toward a church and a society that genuinely welcomes and includes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. The focus is to move the "movable middle," by graceful engagement, using RMN tools and training to build relationships of trust with people who will work to accomplish RMN goals. The position requires significant skills in interpersonal communication, a grace-filled, positive and professional demeanor, and willingness to respond appropriately and in a timely way. Position requires a service motivation, boldness, strong initiative, superior trust/rapport building, excellent record-keeping, and a truly welcoming spirit. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, Goals & Objectives The Field Organizer will be expected to engage in the following: a) Word and Sacrament or Word and Service Ministry, including preaching, teaching, training, speaking b) Full integration into the MoSAIC Leadership Team c) Assessment, use and development of resources for young adult in diverse settings d) Volunteer recruitment, empowerment and leadership development e) RMN legislative engagement in collaboration with other constituents and allies f) Establish appropriately professional relationships, with boundaries, in compliance with RMN policies Specific Goals & Objectives
