Subject: Synopsis of PNW gay pastor appointment
It's now official.
Bishop Galvin of the Pacific Northwest AC will be re-appointing Mark Williams, a self-avowed practicing homosexual, as senior pastor of Woodland Park UMC in Seattle http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wpumc/
Last year, Mr. Williams announced, with much fanfare, that he is an active homosexual. Bishop Galvin responded by suspending Williams, but it was quickly determined that the bishop can't suspend him simply for making such a statement, but rather, charges may be brought, and so Williams must be allowed to continue as pastor in the meantime. The Judicial Council made clear in April that this entire thing is really at the discretion of the bishop.
The Committee on Investigation recently held a hearing and asked Williams an intimate question about his sex life, which Williams refused to answer, and so in the absence of the answer, the Committee ruled that they had no evidence to bring the charges to a church trial, and thus, it's over; no appeal is allowed.

So, there you have it. The UMC system has provided for a means for any homosexual-advocate bishop to routinely appoint openly practicing homosexuals. With a wink and a nod, the liberal-dominated conferences have a road map to circumvent the Book of Discipline.
As you can read, the homosexual advocates are ecstatic: http://www.ucmpage.org/news/homo_court_loophole8.html
Apparently, the UMC leaders insist that the pastor have the homosexual sex act in full view of the Committee on Investigation in order to consider that there is any evidence that the pastor is, in fact, a practicing homosexual. Sounds like the bar has been set just a bit too high.
