Pro-homosexuality Forces Angered by Loss In Committee, Evangelical Conference Still Hopeful

Dear Friends,

Wanted to update you on General Conference. Others may have but I will add my impressions.

The climate is very different from Denver. The pro-gay presence is nothing like it was there. Bishops have not been hitting hard on the issue like they did there and one, Bishop Kulah of Africa, supported our traditional stands.

The evangelical conference got a 12-5 vote in a sub committee. Monday after noon it will go to the whole committee. Please keep that in prayer.

Rumor has it that the Judicial Council has supported the Discipline vs. California Nevada AC. Praise the Lord! That will help.

Also the Faith and Order Committee voted about 67-35 to keep our stands on 65C and 65G and ordination the same. Pro-gay people were angry. I am expecting a strong vote from the whole conference.

Our evangelical western team is doing well. I am pleased to see Loran and Richard giving leadership as they are coordinating an observer team for their committees. I am coordinating the observers for Faith and Order.

We are tired. The days have been long with little rest. Keep us all in your prayers for the next week.

Thanks so much

Bob Kuyper, President ERF Cal Nevada
