As usual, Peggy Noonan hits the nail on the head: http://www.drudgereport.com/noonan.htm James Gibson EvangelNet Higher Ground United Methodist Prayer Summit South Georgia Confessing Movement Fellowship He who finds a wife finds what is good From: Deborah Gorman dfgorman@vbe.com Hello, Although I also disagree with much that the Bd. of Church and Society does, in this case, I do agree that the issue is one of a father wanting his son back. I think they do have the right approach to solicit contirubtions to help with his legal expenses. I do not agree that just because someone is a communist that he should have his child taken away from him and lose all parental rights. The US has full diplomatic relations with China, the former Soviet bloc and many other totalitarian countries. Normalized relations with Cuba are long overdue. Whatever happened to family values? Would you really think that the Lazaros Gonzalez home is superior to Elian living with his own father? Marisyleys, is his second cousin, she is only 21 yrs old, and she is not married. Think about it. Kids need their fathers. Are we supposed to take in every kid who decides they want to leave home? Six year olds are not able to make a reasonable choice about this. Sincerely, |
