How To Look At A Response To Sept. 11

by George Don Spruill

We are commanded to turn the other cheek. We are commanded to forgive evildoers.

How then do the murderers of 5,000+ Americans receive justice? Our government is the source of justice. From Romans 13:3,4...

3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

There is no contradiction here between Jesus' command to forgive and Paul's commentary that a ruler is "...God's servant to bring punishment on the wrongdoer."

The liberal protestant church and it's liberal leaders are confused between our role as Christians and the government's role as the authorized bearer of the sword.

Further, if our government does not seek the murderers out and destroy them, we will sacrifice more thousands and, perhaps, millions. To do anything other than bring Bin Laden, an errand boy, and Saddam Hussein, the evil behind much of this, to justice is folly and evil in itself. Yet, it is predictable that foolish people will chatter on about how we need to understand why they hate us so much. They hate us, because they are evil and they don't follow the true God.

Allah is not the God of Scripture. There is one God, and His name isn't Allah. Neither is His name Buddha or any of the other false gods.

Get right, church! This is not complicated. It's all in Scripture.
